I am sad to say that I believe that this year there are no strong candidates that appeal to me. Let me start with the Republicans. First there is Leegun Kim, a very nice person but also very lost. During the town hall meeting he was confused and consistently stuttered. When the elections first began I interviewed him and I can say that was by far the worst interview I had ever heard. When asked about homosexuals, Mr.Kim cut me off stating that they don't even deserve rights. Is that who we want representing this country? A person who believes that an American citizen shouldn't even have rights? I doubt that Mr. Kim will even get far in this election but still it surprises me what kind of people are running. Next is Andrew Bright. I have to admit that he is a much stronger candidate that Leegun but I still don't understand his policies. I feel like he is just repeating the typical Republican stance on issues without even really knowing what they are. All Mr.Bright kept on repeating was "Deregulation! Deregulation!" . Now if he was so adamant about this type of policies then why can't you explain why it hasn't worked in the past?
Next is the Democrats. Now, Kyle Norton is a very strong candidate, but to be honest I don't believe that he is a democrat. In regards to his economic policies he seems to mimic Mr.Bright's policies of deregulation. Although his social issues lean towards the liberals, but I still don't believe that he is a Democrat. Then comes Manisha Banga. I can say she is one of the most liberal candidates running right now. Discussing social issues consistently, she shows the true colors of the Democratic party on social issues. now when it comes to the economy, I think that Ms.Banga is confused. Although she wants more regulation of programs, she also wants deregulation at the same time. I don't think that Manisha knows what she is talking about when it comes to discussing her economic policies. Finally there is Mr. Grant Hix. Although the least likely to win, I think that Mr.Hix had really great points. His stance on the economy and social issues really struck a chord with me, but he isn't as charismatic as the other candidates are and this will cost him the nomination. Overall in this election there is not one candidate that I could say will be the best for this country. All the candidates have major flaws that will not be good for this country.
